FFL: As rifle actions are a controlled
item by the BATF all actions, barreled actions or complete custom
rifles must be shipped to a licensed dealer. Prior to shipping
your item we must have on file a copy of your dealers Federal
Firearms License (FFL). No exceptions. There is no requirement
to possess a FFL for a rifle barrel or a muzzle brake.
Rebarreling Services: You are
not required to possess an FFL to send us your rifle for repair
or alteration. And once the work is done it can be shipped directly
back to you. We have found that the US Postal Service is probably
the easiest way to ship the rifle without any hassles. You can
ship via UPS or FedEx but we have found that in some cases our
customers are having problems shipping through these companies.
If you are shipping a rifle to us, notify the shipping company
that you are sending it in for repair and that you are NOT transferring
ownership of the item. Federal Law states that handguns must be
shipped via Next Day Air, this law does not affect shipment of
Handling Fee: All shipments will
incur a $5.50 handling charge. This is added to your shipping
charges. This fee is for labor & packaging materials.
Shipping Fees: All shipments will
be made using Federal Express unless otherwise requested by customer.
For shipments to Alaska & Hawaii shipments will be made using
the US Postal Service as we have found this to be the most economical
way to ship to these states. Shipments to countries outside of
the United States will be made using the US Postal Service or
the service chosen by the exporting company.
Insurance: Insurance is added
to all packages shipped, no exceptions.
Shipment Policy: Shipments are
made on a 1st come, 1st served basis.
Cancellations: Items that have
not shipped may be cancelled at any time. If work has begun on
your barreled action or complete custom rifle you will be assessed
a 15% restocking fee.
Deposits: We do not currently
require a deposit on rebarreling services. We do require full
payment on custom contoured barrels prior to work beginning. If
you pay in advance with a credit card, a fee of 5% will be charged
to cover merchant processing fees incurred. This
5% Fee is only for pre-paid orders using a credit card that are
later cancelled by the customer. This fee is not charged
on orders that are paid for on date of shipment (standard procedure).
Refunds: It is our #1 priority
to ensure customer satisfaction. But we realize that in some cases
the only alternative is a refund. We will do everything in our
power to ensure that you are completely satisfied with your barrel
or services from McGowen Precision Barrels. Once returned to our
shop, we will go through the entire rifle or barrel and check
for malfunctions or tolerance issues. If we find that the defect
is in our product, we retain the right to manufacture and install
a new barrel. If the defect is found within your rifle or receiver,
we will notify you either by phone or email of our findings and
give you our recommendations. McGowen Precision Barrels cannot
be responsible for defects found in your reciever. We will honor
any refunds or rework found in any defects caused by McGowen Precision
Barrels only. If it is found that our scope of work on your rifle
or barrel was defective we will issue a credit to your credit
card (if originally paid by credit card) or by check (if paid
by check or money order) within two weeks. We require that any
defective product be returned to us immediately to expedite the
refund. If the product and/or services were altered after leaving
our shop, all warranties are null and void.
Return Shipment for Refund:
If you need to return an item
that you feel is defective we will typically issue a Federal Express
Call Tag or Return Shipment tag. Typically Federal Express will
make three attempts to pick up the item from your given location.
If nobody is available at your residence please inform us of a
address that the item can be picked up from that has someone available
during normal business hours. If it is impossible to use a Federal
Express Return Shipment (call tag) tag, the item can be taken
to any U.S. Postal Service location. It is perfectly legal for
you to ship your rifle for repair or alterations. It does not
require overnight shipping. McGowen Precision Barrels will refund
any return shipping costs "within reason". If you ship
overnight, we will refund standard ground shipping charges.

Notice: McGowen Precision Barrels
will make every attempt to work with our customers whose accounts
go past due. But if we are unable to receive payments for past
due accounts we will make every attempt to work out a payment
plan with you. If you are unable or unwilling to abide by this
plan then the accounts that become past due and payable may be
assigned to a collection agency for collection of the debt. If
it is assigned to a collection agency the customer whom was assigned
will be responsible for any and all fees necessary in collection
of this debt.
